Action-Packed School Holidays Ahead

From vintage cars to fun runs, carnival rides at the show and a range of exciting art workshops there is plenty to do while schools are in recess.

The spring holidays kick off with Griffith’s Biggest Lap on Saturday, September 23.

The rolling car show down Banna Avenue is an event for car enthusiasts and families to enjoy together.

Run, walk or ride with City2Lake on Sunday, September 24.

From Jubilee Oval to Lake Wyangan picnic grounds, this 9km track invites you to get active for this year’s charity CanAssist Griffith.

There will be trophies for runners in each category as well as entertainment and catering available a the finish line.

Head over to the Griffith Leagues Club for arts and crafts with Tambourine Art Studio’s workshops on Wednesdays and Thursdays during the two holiday weeks.

Salt Bush Stretch will be running Free Kids Yoga on Tuesday, October 3 and on Friday, October 6 you can join Elsa on the Family Terrace for free face painting, a sand art workshop and glitter tattoos.

With the long weekend in the mix, you can’t miss the annual Griffith Agricultural Show on Sunday, October 1 at the Griffith Showgrounds.

Piccolo Family Farm will host free songwriting workshops on Thursday and Friday, October 5 and 6.

Council’s Youth Advisory Group (YAG) has the kids covered for Friday night fun with another “Glow Roller Disco” at the Griffith Regional Sports Centre on Friday, October 6.

The annual display, as part of Griffith Spring Fest, welcomes nine new exciting sculptures into this year’s collection.
