The Griffith Dawn Service will commence at 5:30 am on April 25.

We can remember our servicemen and women, both past and present, fully this year, unhampered by Covid restrictions.

Griffith RSL Sub-Branch President Terry Walsh said he was looking forward to a good crowd this year.

“We used to get some absolutely incredible crowds before Covid,” Mr Walsh said.

“We want to try and have people get back to normal.”

The Griffith Dawn Service will commence at the Cenotaph at 5:30 am on Monday, April 25, followed by the ANZAC Day march, and main memorial service.

Mr Walsh said that everyone involved in the march is asked to gather outside the Memorial Hall at 10:20 am.

“The march will set off just after 10:30 am, but we’ve got to line them all up and organise things first,” he said.

Lachlan Date will serve as the main speaker for the service.

Services over the last couple of years have been impacted by Covid restrictions, so this year’s ANZAC Day should be very significant.

This year also marks the first year since the Australian Forces withdrew from Afghanistan.

Pubs and clubs across the State have been given the nod to hold games of two-up across all three days of the ANZAC Day long weekend.
