Local organisations have the opportunity to apply for funding to conserve, restore and protect local historic buildings and places.
Murrumbidgee Council Economic Development Manager, Kellie Dissegna said it was a fantastic opportunity for owners and managers of heritage items or items in a conservation area in the Murrumbidgee Council area.
“We have been fortunate to secure the funding through the NSW Government, which we are then able to disburse locally through a competitive grants process,” she said.
“The funding can be used for such things as repairs, maintenance, external painting, signage, front fences or paths, landscaping and sculptures.
“I encourage all owners and managers of heritage items and those in a conservation area to consider applying as the funding will provide a welcome in funds that is normally hard to come by.”
Recipients are required to match the funding on a dollar-for-dollar basis. Submissions must be made by the close of business on Monday, March 11. Contact Murrumbidgee Council’s Economic Development Manager on 1300 676 243 or email mail@murrumbidgee.nsw.gov.au.
Applications and guidelines are available on Murrumbidgee Council’s website or from any one of the three Council offices.
