Jesse Aviu gives a stellar performance at the last Grass Roots Open Mic.

Get along to the Griffith Regional Theatre on Sunday, July 30 and support young performers as they compete on stage.

Contestants will show off their skills and perform a mix of covers and original songs at the Grass Roots open mic competition.

The competition will be judged by Grass Roots founder and local musician Ben Ceccato, along with the directors of A Day in the Orchard (ADITO) music festival, Luke Piccolo and Bonnie Owen.

This year the competition will also welcome Ken Dachi from Halisi Music to the judging panel.

Griffith Regional Theatre Manager, Marg Andreazza said there was no better way to spend a Sunday than to support local musos.

“We’re excited to see these young artists step out on stage and show us what they’ve got,” she said.

“The music will be live and loud, and we’ll have the bar open for refreshments.”

Members of the public, as well as friends and families of the performers, are welcome to purchase a ticket to see the open mic event for just $10 each.

Tickets can be purchased online or at the door through the Box Office. Grass Roots Under 30s Open Mic competition will take place at 2 pm on Sunday, July 30 at the Griffith Regional Theatre.

More information can be found at www.griffithregionaltheatre.com.au. Grass Roots is presented by Griffith Regional Theatre and supported by Piccolo Family Farm through A Day in the Orchard Music Festival and SongMakers.
