ATO’s Tax, Super And You Competition Is Back

Aussie high school students have the opportunity to learn about the tax and superannuation systems with the ATO’s all-new Tax, Super + You website and the associated competition.

Students up for the challenge must write, make or film a creative entry for their topic from the following categories:

• Junior (Years 7 to 9): Tax, Super + Me - How tax impacts me in my daily life; or
• Senior (Years 10 to 12) - Top four things I need to know about tax and super when I start my first job.

Entrants may work individually or as part of a team for a chance to win some great prizes, totalling $7,600, for themselves and their schools.

The program aims to build financial literacy in students and help them become more aware of the tax and superannuation systems that we work with.

The competition is absolutely free, all you have to do is:

• Be a high school student;
• Be enrolled in the Australian education system;
• Submit an entry (entries are limited to three per person or group);
• Complete a separate entry form for each submission;
• Complete a film or photo consent form for each person on your entry;
• Comply with the terms and conditions of the competition; and
• Only include music with permission or an appropriate licence.

The $7,600 in prizes to be won are made up as follows in both junior and senior categories:

• First prize winner - $600 plus $600 for their school;
• Second prize winner - $400 plus $400 for their school;
• Third prize winner - $300 plus $300 for their school; and
• People’s Choice Award winner - $600 plus $600 for their school.

Entries close on August 19, with winners to be announced in October.

Winners will be decided by a judging panel island the public also has the opportunity to vote for their favourite entry in the People’s Choice Awards in September.

Shortlisted entries could include films, stop motion, videos, songs, raps, animations, comics, and more.
