The Griffith Regional Aquatic Leisure Centre has been preparing to open the 50m outdoor pool for the upcoming summer season for the past few weeks.
The pool officially reopened to the general public last Friday and Leisure Services Manager, Alan Anderson said residents were keen to get back into the water since the pool had been closed through the winter season.
“With the new 50m pool opening in February, there wasn’t a lot of opportunity to enjoy the facility, but I am pleased to say we are opening from 6am for the entire 6 month summer season,” Mr Anderson said.
“There will be restrictions in place in accordance with the current NSW Government’s Public Health Order which patrons will be required to adhere to while in the Centre, however we look forward to a very busy season.”
The current COVID-19 restrictions, which may change following this weekend, according to the NSW roadmap, include:
While outdoors patrons will not be required to wear masks, (however) social distancing still applies and masks must still be worn (unless exempt) inside, including in change rooms.
Everyone must continue to check-in, either via the Service NSW App on their phone or using the supplied iPad.
Staff continue to disinfect equipment between uses and frequently touched surfaces several times throughout the day. Patrons are asked to follow posted requirements and staff instructions.
