How long have you been operating?
I have just celebrated my two-year anniversary.

What is the main operation of your business?
Hairdressing.

What inspired you to open your business?
A beautiful lady named Tammy-Lee. She introduced me to the idea of opening the salon back up after it was closed for six months. Also, my age/personal goals drove me to where I am now. I’m very independent and wanted to set my life up so I didn’t have to rely on anyone.

What is your next goal?
I’m very happy with how my business is going at the minute. I have a lot of personal goals which I am working on and I will share with you in the next 12 months.

What part of your business do you find most satisfying and why?
I’d love to say giving people a makeover, although it’s talking to clients everyday, meeting new people. Sometimes it is a counselling session, both ways. I learn a lot from my clients and I love that about my job.

Did Covid-19 affect your business?
Yes, it did. I closed for three weeks, although I didn’t technically need to. I think I can speak for a lot of salon owners and hairdressers – there was a lot of pressure for us to close, lots of hate posts on social media directed to businesses and it was a horrible time because of this. Wouldn’t it be nice if there was less hate and more love and support between businesses?
