Carols-by-Candlelight

Hark, the herald angels sing and you can join in at Carols by Candlelight on Sunday, December 10 at the Griffith Community Gardens.

This year’s carols event will feature talented local musicians with a set list designed to delight.

Creative Director, Danielle Pfitzner has encouraged locals and visitors to bring the whole family along for a night of fun.

“I am thrilled that we get to showcase our talented performers and add some Christmas cheer,” Mrs Pfitzner said.

“This year will see the return of the combined primary school choir. At this stage we have Lake Wyangan Public School, St Mary’s Primary School, Beelbangera Public School and Verity Christian College confirmed.

“I invite you to bring chairs or a picnic rug as seating is not provided at the Community Gardens, then sit back, sing along and enjoy this event.”

Among the highlights of the evening, audiences can look forward to performances by stars from the successful community musical, The Wedding Singer: Lara Calabria, Helania Beltrame, and Jesse Aviu.

Emceeing the Carols will be Councillor Jenny Ellis alongside popular entertainer Glenn Starr.

Gates open at 6.15 pm with children’s activities by Fusion Riverina, Carols performances from 7.30 pm, and a visit by Santa bringing goodie bags provided by the Combined Churches.

There will be food and drinks available from Peeches Coffee, BBQ from Rotary Club Griffith Avanti, and Mr Twister will be on hand to keep you cool with ice cream.

The night will culminate in a dazzling fireworks display, sponsored by ProTen starting at 9.30 pm.

Those in the area are reminded to secure their dogs beforehand.
