Lisi Art Couture’s Elenoa Latu remembers watching her mother sew clothes, particularly special occasional outfits, for her and her siblings, and that’s where it all started.
For years, Mrs Latu sewed informally, but she decided in 2014 that she wanted to move in a more professional direction.
“I did a Certificate IV in fashion design to get my skills on par with industry standards,” she said.
Everything from speaking with the client to find out what they want in a gown, sketching the design with details and colour, drafting the pattern to the client’s measurements, mock fittings right through to the final garment is done by Mrs Latu.
“I prefer to specialise in women’s formal and bridalwear, bridalwear is my absolute favourite,” Mrs Latu said.
“I can also do menswear as well.”
Mrs Latu’s business Lisi Art Couture has been operating for over two years from home whilst raising her family.
