Citrus Sculptures A Huge Attraction For Griffith Spring Fest
Griffith Citrus Sculptures go up this Sunday, October 9.
Locals know there is nothing quite like Spring in Griffith with its larger-than-life citrus sculpture display.
Most of them will remember running among the sculptures with their parents following behind snapping pics.
It has been that way since 1996. More than 100,000 oranges and grapefruit will be used to create the magnificent sculptures that will grace Banna Avenue between Woolworths and Best and Less.
Hundreds of volunteers will join together to erect the sculptures at daybreak on Sunday morning, October 9 fitting rubber bands to the citrus fruit before attaching them to the metal frames.
Around 70 sculptures in all will remain on display until Sunday, October 23.
The sculptures are just one part of Griffith Spring Fest.
Don’t miss the open gardens and the Multicultural Festival.
