COG Meeting Kicks Off Special Rate Variation Consultation

The most recent Community Opinion Group (COG) kicked off community consultation for the proposed Special Rate Variation (SRV).
Griffith City Council’s Community Opinion Group (COG) Meeting on Tuesday night, kicked off consultation for the proposed Special Rate Variation (SRV), with almost 40 people attending alongside Councillors and Senior Council staff.
Griffith Mayor, Doug Curran said he was pleased to see residents attend to find out about the proposed SRV and have other agenda items addressed.
“The first COG meeting was very interactive and I truly appreciated the members of the community, our Councillors and senior management attending Yoogali for the session,” Mayor Curran said.
“We answered quite a few questions on the evening about the ramifications of the SRV and took some on notice, there was obviously quite a bit of interest which is great to see.
“Over the next three months we will be doing our best to inform all of our ratepayers and hear their views.
“If you can’t get along to one of the sessions, I ask that you head to our webpage www.griffith.nsw.gov.au/srvhaveyoursay.
“You will find lots of information and an option to make a submission. “We are also meeting with service groups, committees and organisations in our community to have SRV discussions, if you would like us to do so for your group please reach out and let us know.”
A number of other concerts were highlighted at Tuesday night’s COG meeting at the Yoogali Club.
Residents are reminded that the best way to have matters addressed at COG Meetings is to odge an agenda item prior to the meeting.
