Griffith City Council has announced Max Turner as Acting Director for a fixed term following Steve Saffioti’s recent resignation as Director of Business, Cultural, and Financial Services.

Mr Turner, who has previously held the position, will officially assume responsibilities on Monday, March 11 and continue until Friday, August 29, 2025.

He will work from Monday to Thursday and actively participate in all Council meetings, workshops and Committee meetings as required.

General Manager, Brett Stonestreet said he was delighted Mr Turner was available to work with Council for the fixed period, particularly during the crucial 2024/25 budget preparation process and its subsequent implementation.

“The appointment of Mr Turner allows Council ample time during the early months of 2025 to conduct a thorough recruitment process for a permanent Director to fill this vital role,” Mr Stonestreet said.

He also thanked Vanessa Edwards, who temporarily filled the position and will continue in the role until Mr Turner assumes his duties in March.
