Council’s Director Sustainable Development Resigns

Griffith City Council has announced that Director of Sustainable Development Bruce Gibbs has resigned effective Thursday, June 13.

Mr Gibbs is leaving Council to pursue a new opportunity within local government.

Council’s General Manager Brett Stonestreet thanked Mr Gibbs for his significant contributions since he commenced his role in September 2022.

“Bruce has been an invaluable team member, and I greatly appreciate his collaboration with the Senior Management Team and all staff, resulting in several key achievements,” Mr Stonestreet said.

“Notable accomplishments during his tenure include the adoption of the Griffith Local Environment Plan (LEP) General amendment and the finalisation of a Development Contribution Planf or Lake Wyangan.

“We wish him all the best in his future endeavours.”

Council’s Planning and Environment Manager Carol Potgieter will assume the role of Acting Director of Sustainable Development during the upcoming recruitment process.
