Darlington Point residents, including the children, have been consulted about getting a mini skate bowl. Director of Infrastructure for Murrumbidgee Council Tom Dimec said he was a real stickler for allowing the community to have input into infrastructure changes.

“We suggest to a certain degree, but we consult the public to find out their views.”

Earlier this month, Council did just that, they called for public opinion regarding a skate bowl at Darlington Point. Anyone could say what they wish to happen,” Mr Dimec said.

“It was unanimously agreed that it was a good idea and that we should put it next to where the current skate park is.

“The kids are really excited that something like this is going in for them. We’re encouraging our young people to enjoy themselves in our parks.”

All funding for the new skate bowl at Darlington Point skate park comes from local roads and community infrastructure.

Following the community engagement consultation, and the resulting unanimous support, Mr Dimec recommended to Council on Tuesday night that a mini skate bowl be placed near the current skate park.
