Deadline Looms On Griffith Australia Day Award Nominations
Just two weeks remain to nominate your local legend for an Australia Day Award.
If you know a local legend who has gone the extra mile for the Griffith community, time is running out to nominate them for the recognition they deserve.
Nominations for this year’s Australia Day Awards close at 4 pm Friday, November 15.
Don’t miss your opportunity to shine a spotlight on those who make a difference, big or small, across the region.
Griffith City Council’s Community Development Coordinator Melissa Canzian has urged residents to help acknowledge the extraordinary individuals who make Griffith a better place for everyone.
“Their selfless service deserves to be celebrated, ensuring their efforts don’t go unnoticed,” Ms Canzian said.
“I urge everyone in the community, whether from sporting clubs, service organisations or local groups to nominate someone for an Australia Day Award.
“Through their dedication, these individuals play a vital role in shaping our city, and they deserve recognition.”
Nominations are being accepted for:
Citizen of the Year;
Young Citizen of the Year (under 25 as of January, 26, 2025);
Environmental Citizen of the Year;
Community Project of the Year;
Sportsperson of the Year;
Junior Sportsperson of the Year;
Sports Team of the Year; and
Club Person of the Year.

Winners will be celebrated at the Australia Day Award Ceremony at Griffith Regional Theatre in January, 2025.
