Draft Budget On Agenda For Next COG Meeting

Residents are invited to the next Community Opinion Group (COG) Meeting at the Yoogali Club on Tuesday, June 6 at 7 pm.
The next Community Opinion Group (COG) Meeting to be held at the Yoogali Club has been moved from late May to Tuesday, June 6 from 7 pm.
While residents are encouraged to submit their own agenda items and ask questions during the meeting as usual, the primary focus of this meeting will be the draft 2023/24 budget.
It is anticipated that the date move will ensure that Councillors and senior staff have ample time to provide a comprehensive explanation of the budget.
Mayor Doug Curran said it was particularly important that information regarding the budget is shared at this meeting.
“Councillors welcome the opportunity to engage with community members outside the confines of the Ordinary Council Meeting framework,” Mayor Curran said.
“I’m pleased with the way residents have been attending these meetings to bring issues to our attention.
“For this June meeting we have prepared a budget presentation and will also be touching on the proposed Special Rate Variation to help people understand what this means and the process involved.”
The COG Meetings demonstrate Council’s ongoing commitment to open and transparent consultation with the Community.
They also allow community matters of concern to be documented and where appropriate, championed by a Councillor through a Notice of Motion procedure to Council for formal Consideration.
Residents with issues to raise can do so by visiting https://forms.griffith.nsw.gov.au/Forms/COGS and filling out the submission form by 4 pm on Thursday, May 25.
Proposed dates for COG meetings for the remainder of 2023 are: Hanwood - Tuesday, August 1 at Hanwood Catholic Club at 7 pm; and Yenda - Tuesday, October 31 at the Yenda Diggers Club at 7 pm.
