Griffith residents are invited to help spread Christmas cheer by donating at the Giving Tree at Griffith City Library.

“It’s the most wonderful time of the year” - but for some, Christmas is just another day filled with cost-of-living stresses and feelings of hopelessness that they can’t provide their families with something a little special.

Griffith City Council has encouraged residents to help spread some holiday cheer by contributing to the Community Giving Tree located at Griffith City Library.

The Giving Tree aims to help those who may be struggling during the festive season by providing much-needed items for families in need.

Donations can include a variety of items, including:

  • Toys;

  • Toiletries;

  • Games;

  • Clothes;

  • Gift vouchers;

  • School supplies; and

  • Non-perishable food.

Griffith Mayor Doug Curran stressed the importance of supporting those less fortunate during the holiday season.

“Christmas can be a tough time for some people, and we want to ensure that everyone in our community has the chance to enjoy the holiday season,” Mayor Curran said.

“By contributing to the Community Giving Tree, we can make a small, but real difference in the lives of those in need.”

All donated items will be collected and distributed by Hampers of Hope, who will ensure they reach those who need them most this Christmas.
