The Governor of New South Wales, Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC KC visits Griffith with Mr Wilson.

Governor of New South Wales, Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC KC and Mr Dennis Wilson, is currently visiting Griffith, Leeton and Narrandera.

The visit commenced yesterday and will conclude tomorrow, Saturday, April 29.

Her Excellency said she and Mr Wilson were looking forward to visiting Leeton, Griffith and Narrandera in the beautiful Riverina.

“We will be catching up with local councils and community groups, learning about the exciting and innovative developments in agribusiness, food and wine production, and soaking up the diverse and dynamic local culture the region is famed for,” she said.

While in Griffith, the Governor and Mr Wilson’s visit will include meeting with staff of the Linking Communities Network and members of Griffith City Council.

They will also tour the FlavourTech pilot plant and manufacturing facility and visit the Aquna Sustainable Murray Cod nursery and processing plant.

Their time in Leeton will be spent meeting members of the Leeton Shire Council and visiting the Tirkandi Inaburra Cultural and Development Centre to learn about their empowering educational and cultural programs.

The Governor and Mr Wilson will also tour facilities and meet staff and operators, at SunRice and Southern Cotton.

In Narrandera their focus will be meeting members of the Narrandera Shire Council, touring the Manildra Flour Mills and visiting the Narrandera Fisheries Centre to learn about their world-class fisheries research facilities and native fish breeding and conservation programs.
