Great Turnout For Griffith’s Free Pet Microchipping Day
Pet owners brought 54 animals to Griffith’s free pet microchipping day on September 28.
Griffith City Council is celebrating the success of its free community microchipping day held at Kubank Park on Saturday, September 28.
The free microchipping event was a fantastic opportunity for pet owners to ensure pets were microchipped and their details were up to date, with many residents attending the event.
Fifty four animals were successfully microchipped, helping to safeguard pets in the Griffith area by making it easier for them to be reunited with their owners if they go missing.
Council’s team also assisted with updating incorrect microchip details, ensuring pet owners were compliant with the Companion Animals Act 1998.
The Pound and Animal Rehoming Centre team was on hand to answer questions about responsible pet ownership, while the Friends of the Griffith Pound provided information about their desexing program and offered vouchers to eligible residents.
The collaborative effort underscores Council’s ongoing commitment to promoting responsible pet care within the community.
