The Griffith Black & Whites 100 Year Reunion has been postponed twice now due to COVID 19, the second postponement was due to the ongoing New South Wales outbreak.

As a result of the continuing saga, the organising committee has accepted that the event won’t happen this football season.

Following the State’s push towards the 80 per cent vaccination rate target, promising to allow some form of normality to return towards the end of this year, the Reunion Committee met on Wednesday, September 15 to commence planning the event. A spokesperson for the committee said they decided to target a home game at the commencement of the 2022 Group 20 season.

“This game will be held sometime in early April 2022,” he said.

“We are just waiting on the Group 20 draw to be finalised, so a final date can be set for the Reunion. We are hoping this will occur in early November.”

“The program for the Reunion will not alter from the original format, with a meet and greet Friday night, golf Saturday morning (for those who are keen), the formal function/dinner on Saturday night and the home game and related post-game activities on Sunday.”

“As soon as we have the date locked in, we will get it out to everyone as quickly as possible. But we thought it appropriate to give everyone a heads up around the planned timing of the Reunion.”

The Committee understands if for any reason you are not able to attend in April 2022, if you do not think you can attend and would like a refund of your ticket cost, please do not hesitate to contact the Committee and we will arrange a refund.

This is the case for anyone who purchased their tickets through the Eventbrite online ticket system or directly from the Southside Leagues Club. If you require your refund to be processed, please make contact at mailto:donald@agfinance.net.au

The Committee hopes the new dates will suit as many people as possible, and look forward to the event proceeding as planned in April 2022.
