Griffith Celebrates Refugee Week With a Filming Of Cast From The Storm
Three teens tell their extraordinary stories when they join Treehouse Theatre.
Rural Australians for Refugees (RAR) Griffith has arranged a screening of Cast from the Story at Griffith Regional Theatre on Tuesday, June 18.
It is a tender story about a group of teenage refugees who share their extraordinary stories when they join Treehouse Theatre, an after-school theatre group.
This uplifting documentary is a coming of age story that shares the reality of what it means to be a teenager and a displaced person.
It is a story of what comes after, and what it means to remake your home.
At the end of the screening, each of the three teens will have a special piece shown about them.
This year is the fifth film screening arranged by RAR Griffith to commemorate Refugee Week.
The screening will also form part of a special Griffith City Council Citizenship Ceremony from 4:30 pm.
The film’s run time is one hour, 20 minutes plus a special feature session and tickets cost $15 each.
Ticket includes free pizza upon arrival and the bar will be open from 5:30 pm, and can be purchased online through the Griffith Regional Theatre website.
There will be a raffle on the night with membership to the Griffith RAR available.
EFTPOS facilities will be available for all needs on the evening.
