Our young people will be offered the opportunity to have a stronger voice in the events and programs delivered for young people in Griffith.

This opportunity comes in the form of Griffith City Council’s new and exciting ConnectYOUth260 project.

Council received $50,000 in funding from the NSW Government’s Children and Young People Wellbeing Recovery Initiative to implement ConnectYOUth2680 and appoint a new Youth Project Officer, Lara Rossetto.

Ms Rossetto is now calling for young people aged between 12 and 24 years to join the innovative committee.

“This is an exciting opportunity to be a voice for young people in our community,” Ms Rossetto said.

“Committee members will work towards improving the living standard and experiences of Griffith youth.

“I’ll be a part of it, we’ll be a team working towards making Griffith a better place to live for residents in our age group.

“All committee members will play pivotal roles in organising exciting events, workshops and projects while also receiving first-hand experience in youth work.”

Young people interesting in joining the committee can register at https://sj58bqno.paperform.co/.

Director Economic and Organisational Development, Shireen Donaldson said the initiative was an important and powerful way to give the next generation a voice now.

“ConnectYOUth2680 is a unique opportunity to gain an understanding of the role of local government and how you can help shape future decisions,” Mrs Donaldson said.

“This sort of experience will also be a standout feature on your resume.

“Through community consultation undertaken over the past few years we’ve heard loud and clear that youth need greater consideration.

“This is an opportunity to get involved and really make a difference.

“We need to know what young people like and what they think is missing in Griffith.”
