Griffith City Council Wraps Up Local Government Week 2024

Griffith City Council successfully celebrated Local Government Week from July 29 to August 5, showcasing its various functions and services.

The week emphasised the importance of recognising the wide range of activities and services provided by the Council during this time and the efforts of Councillors, Council staff and volunteers who contribute to Council and community initiatives.

Council volunteers assist in facilities like Pioneer Park Museum and some as community representatives on Council Committees.

A morning tea was held on Tuesday to honour these volunteers for their contributions, highlighting their essential role in the community.

Council’s engagement team hosted a Local Government Week Council Cafe at Griffith Central Shopp[ing Centre, attracting many residents who engaged with Councillors and staff while enjoying giveaways.

Overall, Local Government Week was a great success, demonstrating the diverse services and dedicated efforts of Council staff and volunteers and highlighting the strong community behind local initiatives.
