Griffith Doctor Features In Destination Medicine Podcast
Griffith orthopaedic surgeon Tau Loseli features in episode five of the podcast Destination Medicine.
He has worked hard and long to get where he is, but Griffith orthopaedic surgeon Tao Loseli is living his dream.
Not only that, he has shared a glimpse of his background, years growing up in Griffith and what it’s like returning to forge his career so many years later.
Though born in Tonga, Dr Loseli was raised in Griffith.
“My parents came here in the 80s in search of a better life,” Dr Loseli said.
“I did all my primary and high schooling here before going away to university to complete my specialist training.
“I returned to work here nine months ago to allow better access to surgical care for my community.
“I did the podcast to increase awareness of the challenges faced by rural communities in terms of access to health care.”
Having grown up in a strong, close-knit Tongan family, Dr Loseli values the additional time practising in a regional setting allows him to spend with his wife and children.
Reaching his goal of practising medicine was no easy feat.
There were a number of hurdles he had to overcome, but determination and a strong work ethic instilled in him by his hard-working parents played a momentous part in his success.
Dr Loseli talks about some of hte challenges he faced on the podcast Destination Medicine which you can find at https://www.destinationmedicine.com.au/podcasts/growing-our-own-dr-tau-loseli-is-grounded-in-griffith/17
