Griffith Easter Party Is A Huge Success

The return of the Griffith Vintage Festival proves a huge success.

After being cooped up for the past couple of years, people were more than ready to let their hair down and have some fun, and the Griffith Easter Party did not disappoint.

There was something for everyone to enjoy from the youngest of the young to the oldest of the old.

One of the main attractions was the return of the Pioneer Park Museum Action Day on Good Friday, The museum came to glorious life, with the iconic Pioneer Express Train taking 768 passengers for a ride around the museum’s attractions. Back in the day, the train used to come out a little more often than it does now, so catching a lift is something of an experience.

There was bocce on the lawn, pizza fresh from the oven and delicious pasta at the Italian Museum and Cultural Centre to be enjoyed while listening, to and watching, a skilled piano accordionist in action.

Those that enjoy starting their day the active way set out on the Bacchus Fun Run on Good Friday. Runners, joggers and walkers converged on the lake to participate in the fun, choosing from an 8km walk or 5 and 10km runs.

Families enjoyed free fun for all at the Children’s Easter Brunch at the CWA Park on Saturday morning. There were the usual activities, delicious food and live entertainment. Well-known local personality, particularly to those within the motorcycle community, Barry Day shared how Jesus could change your life, speaking from his own experience.

The old Miranda Wines site was the venue for the Griffith Vintage Festival where people enjoyed live music and a splendid range of local wines and food on Saturday.

Saturday also saw Banna Avenue sidewalk was awash with businesses out hawking their wares and shoppers looking to nab an Easter bargain.

The Producers’ Market at Piccolo Family Farm on Sunday was a huge success. There were plenty of market stalls, aromatic coffee, delicious food and wine tasting. The crowds milled around or sat down and enjoyed the live music.
