Griffith RSL sub-Branch Has New Committee

IMAGE: The next monthly meeting of Griffith RSL sub-Branch will be held on Monday, April 3 at the Griffith War Memorial Museum and Art Gallery with the brand new committee.
The Griffith RSL sub-Branch held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Monday, March 6 resulting in a changing of the guard.
Michael Borg, who has been a member of the sub-Branch since 2014, was signed in as President.
Mr Borg served as Senior Vice President from 2015 to 2019 and has served in the Australian Army.
Colin Beaton, who also served in the Australian Army and has been a member of the sub-Branch since 2017 has taken over the role of Senior Vice President.
Mr Beaton is an active community member, serving as Facilitator of Griffith Prostate Cancer Support Group and President of the Combined Pensioners and Superannuants Association - Griffith Group.
Another former member of the Australian Army, Paul Hughes, who has been a sub-Branch member since 2019, has stepped into the Junior Vice President position.
Since retiring from the army, the new Secretary/Treasurer, Berdene Oxley-Boyd has been a member of the sub-Branch since 2020.
Ms Oxley-Boyd completed 30 years of service, is an Afghanistan Veteran, President of the Riverina District Council, and an RSL NSW Young Veterans Advisory Committee committee member.
Mr Borg and Ms Oxley-Boyd represent the sub-Branch as delegates for Riverina District Council and Annual Congress.
Terry Walsh will coordinate this year’s ANZAC Day Service while other outgoing committee members will remain active members within the group.
The next monthly meeting of the Griffith RSL Sub-Branch will be Monday, April 3 at Griffith War Memorial Hall and Art Gallery at 5:30 pm.
New members are always welcome and it is free to join.
There are two membership categories - Services Member and Affiliate Member.
