It is always a treat when the Griffith Pioneer Park Museum hosts one of its mini-action days.

These events really bring history to life and make it so much more interesting for our youngsters to learn what it was like for our founding families back in the day.

Of course, this year the action day was made extra special with the Veteran and Vintage Car Club of Australia’s National Veteran Vehicle Tour visit to the city.

With club members dressed to match the vintage of their vehicles, it was a truly spectacular sight.

The sound of the steam whistle heralded the departure of the museum’s train from the station as it carried passengers around the entire park.

Both the Baptist and St James Churches were open for visitors on the day.

Add a blacksmith, jumping castle, live entertainment, market stalls and plenty of delicious things to eat and drink, it was a perfect family day out.
