Complete an important community survey and help shape the future of the Murrumbidgee Council area.

Murrumbidgee Council has called on residents, businesses and stakeholders to take part in an important community survey that will shape the future of the council area.

The survey will gather critical feedback to guide the Council’s Community Strategic Plan - the overarching framework that directs all plans and strategies.

Murrumbidgee Council Mayor Ruth McRae OAM encouraged everyone in the community to take part in the survey, emphasising the importance of collective input in guiding the Council’s and area’s priorities.

Mayor McRae said they were committed to creating a community that reflects the needs and aspirations of all within it.

“This survey is the opportunity to have a say in how we move forward together, ensuring the decisions we make reflect the values and concerns of those who live and work here,” Mayor McRae said.

“The feedback collected through this survey will be instrumental in helping us understand what matters most to the local community both at present and into the future, identifying priorities, and aligning future actions with the needs and aspirations of residents and businesses.

Mayor McRae said whether it was the services that matters most to you, the challenges you think we would face in the future or the types of projects you want to see developed, they want to hear from you.

“Your feedback will directly influence our Community Strategic Plan and the direction of our community over the next four years and beyond,” Mayor McRae said.

The survey covers several key areas, including:

  • Appeal of living and working in Murrumbidgee;

  • Challenges;

  • Key council services; and

  • Desired future projects and developments.

The Council will use the insights gathered to identify strategic priorities, develop future projects, and ensure that resources are allocated effectively in line with the community’s needs.

“We are at a pivotal moment in our community’s development, and your input is essential,” Mayor McRae said.

“It is not just about shaping our future - it’s about working together to create a place where everyone can thrive.

“I encourage all residents and businesses to take a few minutes to share their thoughts and help us build a stronger, more vibrant area.”

You can access the survey online at https://www.surveymonkey.com/9D3LHCV or complete the paper survey that will be sent to all households.

The survey will remain open until Friday, January 28, 2025.

Results will inform the update of the Council’s Strategic Plan, which will be presented to the community next year.
