Students from Griffith East Public School received special awards at last month’s Council meeting.
Among them was young Flynn Bunn who represented his school and the Riverina in the Premier’s State-wide Multicultural Public Speaking Competition and won.
It is the major public speaking competition for NSW public schools and Flynn competed against nine other students from across the state.
The competition was held via zoom.
Talent across the board was impressive, but Flynn’s composure under pressure won him the championship in the end when he delivered an impromptu speech with just five minutes to prepare. Flynn was joined by fellow students when his school’s band were recognised for their achievements.
