Inland Rail Support For Local Community Groups Nears $1.1M

Community groups along the Inland Rail alignment are invited to apply for the next round of funding from the Australian Track Corporation (ARTC) Inland Rail Community Sponsonrships and Donations Program.
Applications for the next round of funding from the Australian Track Corporation (ARTC) Inland Rail Community Sponsorships and Donations Program are now open.
The 16th round of funding has been announced.
Twenty-four community groups and associations, including sporting clubs, history groups, schools and museums will receive a combined $73,000 from this round of funding, taking total support over the life of the program close to $1.1 million to local communities and associations along the Inland Rail alignment since its launch in 2019.
The program has supported 332 local community projects and events, such as local festivals and celebrations, school STEM initiatives, upgrades to sporting facilities and support for health and wellbeing groups.
Inland Rail Director of Health, Safety and Environment, Stephen Jones said they were proud to give back to the communities that were home to Inland Rail.
“The work these organisations do is instrumental to the wellbeing of regional communities,” Mr Jones said.
“The Community Sponsorships and Donations program is just one example of how we ensure that communities benefit from this nation-building project and that we leave a positive legacy in the regions along the Inland Rail alignment.
“We offer funding between $1,000 and $4,000 for groups and organisations that operate along the Inland Rail route and contribute to local and regional prosperity, well-being and sustainability.
“These funds will directly benefit the community through supporting vital local initiatives.
“I encourage other non-profit groups to lodge their applications for the next round of funding.”
Community groups are urged to check their funding eligibility and apply, including as much information as possible to tell the story of what they hope to achieve and how it will benefit their community.
Check the Community Sponsorships and Donations program page for more information and to access the guidelines which explain eligibility. Phone 1800 732 761 or email ircommunitysponsorships@artc.com.au if you have further questions.
Applications for the next round of funding close on April 30, 2023.
