Junee Golf Club will host a charity golf day on Saturday, November 4 from 8 am.
It will be a 4-Person Ambrose, welcoming men, women and juniors, and cost $30 per player.
Participants can mix and match teams if they wish.
The Junee Golf Club is one of the region’s most competitive courses, and thanks to the amazing volunteers, it looks great.
Registrations must be submitted before 4 pm on Friday, November 3, via email or by phoning Rex Parkes on 0499 880 386.
There are lots of prizes to be won, including first and second place, best dressed team, nearest the pin x 2 and drive and pitch.
The fun includes a ball competition and a raffle.
Enjoy egg and bacon rolls for breakfast, refreshments and barbecue lunch can also be purchased on-site.
Funds raised on the day will assist both the Junee Golf Club to understand projects across the Golf Course and allow Can Assist Junee to assist local families impacted by cancer.
Junee Golf Club is an 18-hole course with a par 72 and has watered fairways.
Every hole presents a different challenge with it set on gentle slopes; a usually dry creek running through the course and out of bounds on a number of holes.
The natural course is great to play socially or for a competition round. Given the small population of Junee, it is normally easy to get on to play, all you have to do is show up.
When founded in 1921, the club consisted of little more than a paddock over which cattle roamed, sand greens and a tin shed for a clubhouse. Grass greens replaced the sand green back in 1973.
It is thanks to a dedicated team of volunteers that the greens and fairways always look absolutely amazing.
In addition to a number of charity and fundraising events held throughout the year, the Junee Golf Club also holds a weekly 9-hole meat run event plus a Wednesday, 18-hole comp.
Saturday and Sunday also have 18-hole events.
Can Assist Junee’s mission is to assist country families affected by cancer by providing accommodation and practical support while building community-based volunteer networks and raising awareness of inequities facing country people.
