It has been a while, but the Kapooka Army Band will perform at Griffith Regional Theatre on Wednesday, June 21.
Residing in Blamey Barracks Kapooka, The Home of the Soldier, the band’s mission is to enhance the image of the Australian Army through community and military engagement.
The band will perform an hour-long concert featuring the talents of their Brass and Sax Quartets, Rock Band, Big Band, and Full Band capabilities.
The show will take place from 11 am, with morning tea from 10 am.
Griffith Regional Theatre Manager, Marg Andreazza said they loved having the Morning Melodies shows at the theatre and seeing so many people come together to enjoy morning tea and a show.
“The Australian Army Band Kapooka is one of only seven Australian Army bands, providing musical support to the Army Recruit Training Centre and Riverina community,” Mrs Andreazza said.
“This full-time military band has been serving the Army Recruit Training Centre since 1952.
“Originally a brass band with 12 members, the unit has grown in reputation and now boasts 22 musicians performing on brass, woodwind and rhythm section instruments.”
The $20 ticket price includes morning tea.
Tickets are available from the Box office, by visiting www.griffithregionaltheatre.com.au or by calling 6962 8444.
