Lake Wyangan Foreshore Set For A Major Glow-up
Residents are urged to provide feedback on the significant transformation planned for the recreational area at Lake Wyangan.
Griffith City Council will soon commence the significant transformation of the recreational area at Lake Wyangan, with residents urged to provide feedback.
Initially recommended by the Lake Wyangan and Catchment Committee, the Master Plan was officially adopted by Council following extensive public consultation.
Stage 1 of the Lake Wyangan Foreshore Master Plan will see several upgrades, including:
A new inclusive play space for children of all abilities;
Sediment retention at the north-western drain;
Earthworks and landscaping to enhance the natural environment;
Installation of a new irrigation system;
Improved water supply infrastructure;
Construction of a modern toilet block;
Additional picnic furniture for visitors; and
Enhanced signage around the foreshore.
Council has commenced planning for the new inclusive play space and is seeking input from the Griffith community.
Three community consultation sessions will be held to gather ideas and feedback:
Wednesday and Thursday, October 9 and 10, 5 pm to 7 pm at the Griffith City Library; and
Friday, October 11, 4 pm and 6 pm at the Apex Shelter, Lake Wyangan Picnic Area.
These improvements, which are set to commence in February 2025, will enhance the area’s natural beauty while providing modern facilities that meet the diverse needs of visitors.
Council is committed to creating an inviting and inclusive space at Lake Wyangan, ensuring it can be enjoyed by all members of the community.
Residents are encouraged to attend the consultation sessions and share their thoughts on the inclusive play space for the Lake Wyangan foreshore.
