Ever considered joining the Local Health Advisory Committee and having input into health outcomes for our community? Now is your chance.

Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MLHD) and Murrumbidgee Primary Health Network (MPHN) have appealed to residents to get involved in the Local Health Advisory Committee (LHAC) this year.

The appeal precedes LHAC planning and priority-setting meetings to take place throughout the remainder of February and March to discuss local health data and set the LHAC’s priorities and projects for the year.

MLHD’s Community Engagement Manager, Setchen Brimson said each and every one of our communities was unique in its needs for health services.

“Our LHACs play such a critical role in providing advice and feedback around what is important, where improvements can be made, and also what’s most highest priority to people in our communities,” Ms Brimson said.

Each LHAC is supported by the MLHD and MPHN, who take on board and action the feedback and work together with the LHAC and the community to achieve better outcomes for local people.

Throughout February and March, Executive Directors from both organisations will visit and meet with LHAC members to discuss and prioritise issues and build a plan for the future.

“We’re calling on anyone who is interested in being involved to come forward and join the LHAC, or be part of this important planning session,” Ms Brimson said.

“LHAC members are well respected for their contribution and in every aspect of the role they take on.”

Griffith’s scheduled session will take place on March 30.

If you are interested in being involved in the upcoming planning session complete an expression of interest to join: www.mlhd.health.nsw.gov.au/getinvolved or call 0477 359 764 for an application pack.
