Library Welcomes Author For Talk

Author Fleur McDonald will be at Griffith City Library on Tuesday, November 22 from 6 pm.

Griffith City Library will host an author talk with Fleur McDonald on Tuesday, November 22 at 6 pm.

Ms McDonald has penned 20 books, the most recent of which is being launched this month.

After growing up in the small town of Orroroo in South Australia, she became a jillaroo before spending 20 years farming 8000 acres, east of Esperance in Western Australia.

She now share farms a smaller property with a mate and brags about her two adult children.

Her stories include Red Dust, Blue Skies, Purple Roads, Silver Clouds, Crimson Dawn, Fool’s Gold, Where the Rivers Run, Without a Doubt, Starting From Now, Red Dirty Country, The Shearer’s Wife, Something to Hide, Deception Creek and Rising Dust, as well as the eBook exclusives If You Were Here and A Farmer’s Choice.

Ms McDonald enjoys writing about strong women overcoming adversity, drawing inspiration from her own experiences in rural Australia.

  • She is a mum of two.
  • She has been a huge advocate for women in agriculture, serving on The Australian Women in Agriculture board and as the secretary of the Esperance and Districts Agricultural Society over the years.
  • With a love of helping people, she has been involved with Rotary over the past years as well.

With a lived experience of domestic violence, Ms McDonald also started the organisation DVassist , once called Breaking the Silence, for people in rural settings.

Go along and meet this dynamic and inspirational woman, and enjoy a glass of wine and nibbles from 6 pm with the book chat commencing at 6:15 pm.

Collins Booksellers will be there with Ms McDonald’s books available for purchase on the night.
