Do you know an individual or group that has made a difference to the Murrumbidgee community?

Now is your opportunity to recognise their contributions and achievements as Murrumbidgee Council declares nominations for Australia Day Awards open.

As usual, awards will be presented in each of the shire’s three towns - Coleambally, Darlington Point and Jerilderie.

The Australia Day Awards celebrate outstanding achievements in areas such as community service, sports, arts and cultural contributions.

Murrumbidgee Mayor Ruth McRae encouraged community members to put forward their nominations.

“The Australia Day Awards are a fantastic way to acknowledge the incredible work being done in our towns,” Mayor McRae said.

“Every nomination is a chance to shine a light on those who make our community special.

“I urge everyone to participate and celebrate the exceptional individuals and groups who make our community vibrant and inspiring.

“Don’t miss out - nominate today.”

Nominations for Jerilderie must be submitted by 5 pm on Thursday, December 5, while those for Coleambally and Darlington Point need to be in by 5 pm on Thursday, January 7, 2025.

Residents may complete the forms digitally and lodge online at www.murrumbidgee.nsw.gov.au or collect hard copies of the nomination forms from any of Council’s offices.
