Murrumbidgee River Up, Be Prepared
Murrumbidgee River is up at Darlington Point and expected to peak at 7.80 metres today.
Darlington Point residents have been advised to ensure they have sufficient supplies in stock because, with the river expected to peak at 7.80 metres today, roads may be closed.
SES is coordinating the response to the major flooding.
Call them on 132 500 if you have any issues or questions or if you need assistance with feed for livestock that are isolated by flooding.
The Murrumbidgee River reading at 7 am yesterday, measured 7.59 metres and steady, with major flooding.
The river reading at Carrathool was 7.94 metres and rising and may reach around 8.20 metres between November 16 and 17, with moderate flooding.
In life-threatening emergencies dial 000 (triple zero) immediately.
If you require rescue, assistance to evacuate or other emergency help, phone NSW SES on 132 500.
Stay out of rising water and seek refuge in the highest available place.
Prevent damage to your vehicle by moving it under cover and away from areas likely to flood.
If it’s flooded, forget it.
Flood water can be deceptive and dangerous, so never drive or walk through it.
Closures:
- Darlington Point Boat Ramp, floating pontoon and access road.
- Darlington Point Town Common area.
- Darlington Point Caravan Park. (There is no access and people have been instructed not to drive into the caravan park to view the river.)
