Murrumbidgee Welcomes Region’s Newest Citizens
Murrumbidgee Mayor, Ruth McRae officially welcomes Jackie-Ann Molloy, Kevin Moran, and Liza Hore to the region and the country with Independent Member for Murray, Helen Dalton at a formal Citizenship Ceremony on Tuesday, August 15.
Kevin Moran, Jackie-Ann Molloy and Liza Hore became Murrumbidgee Shire’s newest citizens on Tuesday, August 15.
Murrumbidgee Council formally welcomed the new Aussies at a Citizenship ceremony where the small group proudly took the Pledge of Commitment to become Australian citizens.
Mayor, Ruth McRae officiated on behalf of the Minister for Immigration, Citizenship and Multicultural Affairs, the Hon Andrew Giles MP.
She said she was delighted to officially confer Australian citizenship on all three new citizens.
“It is a great honour to be able to perform this important role and a privilege that I enjoy imimensely,” Mayor McRae said.
“I warmly congratulate all three conferees for officially becoming and Australian and wish them all the very best in their time in the Murrumbidgee.”
New citizen, Jackie-Ann Molloy said it was an honour to finally become an Australian citizen after living and working in the country for over a decade.
“It has been a long process, with visa applications and wait times but is worth it to officially be an Australian,” Ms Molloy said.
“Jerilderie is very special to me and I am so grateful to be able to call this place my home.
“I’m delighted to share this day with my husband, Bill, son, Oscar and friends.”
Murrumbidgee Council holds a number of citizenship ceremonies throughout the year.
