With 48 newly-installed CCTV cameras in Banna Avenue, Griffith now boasts 77 CCTV cameras in total.

The installation of 48 new CCTV cameras in Banna Avenue, increases the total number within the main CBD to 77, providing significant safety benefits for residents and visitors to the area.

Another 19 CCTV cameras have been installed around City Park. Griffith Police Station will monitor the cameras which can be viewed in real-time or used to extract footage if required.

The cameras were funded through the Safer Communities Fund Round 5 provided by the Commonwealth Government, which aims to support local communities address crime and antisocial behaviour.

It is hoped they will assist police in their investigations by providing valuable evidence in the event of an incident.

They will act as a deterrent for anti-social behaviour and help reduce instances of vandalism and graffiti, helping to keep the area clean and well-maintained.

The new CCTV cameras have been installed in strategic locations throughout Banna Avenue, including at intersections and high-traffic areas.

All cameras are equipped with high-resolution lenses and are capable of recording 24/7, ensuring that every angle of the area is covered. The City Park cameras have also been installed in strategic locations throughout the park, including near the playground and barbecue facilities, ensuring the safety and security of families and visitors.

Installation of these new CCTV cameras is a significant investment in the safety and security of Griffith's CBD, and demonstrates Council's commitment to making Griffith a safe and a welcoming place for residents and visitors alike.
