Next Step For Her Way 2680 Project - Removal Of Pedestrian Bridges

The bridges across the canal to Ulong and Kooyoo Streets will be closed while work to remove and replace the current structures takes place.
The Her Way 2680 project will commence with an upgrade of two pedestrian bridges across the canal to Kooyoo and Ulong Streets.
As part of the works, the bridges will be removed and replaced with new wider bridges.
This will require the closure of the bridges over the coming months.
The bridges will be upgraded during this time to align with the outcomes of the community-led consultation through the Her Way 2680 project.
During the closure, pedestrians are encouraged to utilise alternative routes to minimise inconvenience.
Two suggested detours are:
1. Jondaryan Avenue to/from Canal Street as an alternative to the Kooyoo Bridge.
2. The Foot Bridge across from Murrumbidgee Regional High School on Willandra Avenue as an alternative to the Ulong Street Bridge.
The council appreciates residents’ understanding and cooperation during this period of improvement and development.
The upgrades aim to enhance the safety and functionality of these essential pedestrian bridges for the benefit of our community.
The Her Way 2680 project is supported by Transport for NSW through the Safer Cities program and is committed to fostering a more inclusive, safe, and vibrant community.
