It is time to nominate your favourite healthcare professional for an MLHD Excellence Award.

Murrumbidgee Local Health District’s (MLHD) brightest stars are once again being given the chance to shine, with nominations now open for the 2023 MLHD Excellence Awards.

The awards celebrate the achievements of health professionals and volunteers in their pursuit of excellence and commitment to improving the lives of others.

Chief Executive, Jill Ludford said the 2023 MLHD Excellency Awards were an exciting opportunity to acknowledge the great work being done across the district.

“During my site visits across the region, I see so many great initiatives and projects, and excellent delivery of quality service that it’s great to see these staff rewarded for their efforts at the Excellence Award celebrations.

MLHD is one of the largest employers across the region with more than 5,000 healthcare staff working in 33 hospitals and 12 primary healthcare centres across the region.

While around 50 per cent of staff are nurses, the district also employs doctors and allied health staff, as well as a range of corporate service, support and maintenance staff.

MLHD is also supported by a wide range of volunteers.

Awards are available in team and individual categories.

More information about the awards can be found by logging onto the website at https://www.mlhd.health.nsw.gov.au/about-us/newsroom/events/mlhd-excellence-awards-2023
