Non-resident Ratepayers Eligible To Vote In September 2024 In Local Government Elections

Eligible non-resident individuals are encouraged to enrol and vote in the upcoming local government election.

Non-resident ratepayers within the Griffith City Council area are encouraged to enrol and vote in the upcoming local government election scheduled for September 2024.

Eligible individuals must submit the required forms to Council to participate in the electoral process.

The non-residential roll enables non-resident owners, occupiers, and rate paying lessees of rateable land within the Griffith City Council area to have a say in who is elected to Council.

To vote in the September elections, non-residents must register by 6 pm on August 5, 2024.

Eligibility criteria for voting as a non-resident in a a council area include:

You must be an owner of rateable land in the council area, or

An occupier of rate-paying lessee of rateable land in the council area.

Non-residential rolls are prepared and certified by a Council’s General Manager, and the NSW Electoral Commissioner must confirm the eligibility of voters listed on the non-residential roll. Those wishing to be included on the non-residential roll of another Council area should contact the respective Council office or visit their website for more information.
