Plans Underway For Glow2680
Plans for this year’s Glow2680 events are already underway.
Christmas may be a few months away, but plans have commenced for this year’s Glow2680 Christmas program.
Filled with a series of festive events, Glow2680 program promises to illuminate the city with:
- Rotary Christmas Carnival;
- Glow2680 lights launch;
- Carols by Candlelight;
- Star Shopper competition; and
- Christmas lights competition.
Rotary Club of Griffith representatives recently met with Council to confirm they would help kick off the festive season once again, with the Rotary Christmas Carnival and Glow2680 lights launch ini Memorial Park on Friday, December 1.
As usual, the carnival offers a fun-filled evening complete with a chance to win hams and other prizes, face painting, jumping castles and an arts and craft station, while everyone eagerly awaits the Christmas lights to illuminate the city.
Santa will make an appearance and the Lorraine Sutton singers will grace the stage for a little festive ambience.
Griffith Mayor, Doug Curran said he looked forward to the Glow2680 events this year.
“We had a fantastic turnout last year for the launch and Rotary Christmas Carnival,” Mayor Curran said.
“The Park was packed with so many smiling faces.
“It was wonderful to see.”
Residents and visitors can look forward to the return of the shooting stars, the community Christmas tree, walk-through bauble and twinkling archway.
The Glow2680 Star Shopper competition is set to begin on 1 November 2023.
Mark your calendars for Carols by Candlelight, which will be presented at the Griffith Community Stage, Community Gardens, on Sunday 10 December 2023.
There will be more details and updates as the festive season draws nearer.
