Griffith Golf Club will undergo renovations thanks to $105,000 in funding through the Department of Planning, Industry and Environment’s Crown Land Manager Recovery Support Program.
A multi-purpose amenities block with male and female toilets, a shower room, a kitchen and lunchroom will be established in the clubhouse as part of the project.
Club President, Robin Salvestro welcomed the state government’s commitment to regional sporting facilities.
“The grant will fund the construction of an amenities facility on the course in a position that enables it to be used by both golfers, our grounds staff and our many volunteers.
The overall amenity of the Golf Course Crown Reserve will be greatly improved as a result,” Mr Salvestro said.
The Support Program aims to boost the social benefits of Crown reserves and support regional economic recovery post-COVID through asset and health and safety improvement projects.
The state government believes investing in asset improvements on Crown reserves supports jobs and the economy and helps attract more visits by locals and tourists.
