Young people aged between 14 and 18 years are invited to Read the Play in Jerilderie on Monday, April 15.

Read the Play is a mental health literacy program, originally designed for the junior levels of sports clubs.

Engaging the youth in trivia, games, prizes and loads of fun, this interactive session imparts information about mental health illness.

Gift card prizes, snacks and lunch are included in the event funded by the Rural Adversity Mental Health Program (RAMHP).

The fun, interactive program helps remove the stigma and increase help-seeking behaviour.

RAMHP has updated the interactive games-based trivia program to equip kids to better understand mental health issues and know where they can get help locally if they need it.

Youth will learn important information about supporting one another through challenging times by working as a team and having fun.

Register your attendance here for the session at Monash Park Tea Rooms on Monday, April 15 from 11 am to 3 pm.

The AMHP has evolved since it first appeared during the drought in 2007 to broaden its community reach.

Its specific focus is supporting people and communities dependent on primary production and agriculture as well as other priority populations at greater risk of mental ill health.

RAMHP has 20 coordinators employed by Local Health Districts across NSW who are embedded within the communities they work.

They are regional, rural and remote people themselves and understand the strengths, challenges and unique characteristics of rural life.

Another session will take place at the Coleambally Community Hall on Monday, April 22 from 11 am to 3 pm.
