Regional Theatre Presents Musical Wartime Classics
Enjoy the nostalgia of wartime classics at Griffith Regional Theatre as part of its Morning Melodies program.
Spirit of Anzac is a show of remembrance and heartfelt tributes that will be performed at Griffith Regional Theatre on Thursday, April 11 as part of its Morning Melodies series.
Many great singers who performed during the wars are highlighted in the production, including Dame Vera Lynn, The Andrew Sisters, Bob Dylan, Norma Rowe, and many more.
Songs performed include Chattanooga Choo Choo, Blowin’ In The Wind, He Ain’t Heavy He’s My Brother and a stirring version of Bring HIm Home from Les Miserables.
Presented by Promac Productions, the show will be led by narrator and compere Chris McKenna, accompanied by a stellar cast including tenor Roy Best from Opera Australia, international soprano Alison Jones and the talented pianist William Schmidt.
Griffith Regional Theatre Manager Marg Andreazza said patrons would be transported back in time by a line-up of timeless tunes, from the soul-stirring White Cliffs of Dover to the toe-tapping Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy.
“If you were captivated by our enchanting Spirit of Christmas Morning Melodies last year, prepare to be moved once again as we welcome Chris and the team back to the stage for another unforgettable production,” Ms Andreazza said.
Tickets to the Spirit of Anzac are available for $20 per person and include morning tea from 10 am.
