Now that the voting has been done, the ballots must be counted for the verdict and added to those votes received by post.

The 2024 NSW Local Government Elections took place on Saturday, September 14, with eligible residents from across the Local Government Area (LGA) casting their votes.

Many residents took advantage of the opportunity to vote early last week.

Initial vote counting commenced on election night, but the counting is not yet complete.

Postal votes are still being accepted, and voters who applied for post voting by September 9 are reminded that their votes must be received by the NSW Electoral Commission by Friday, September 27 to be included in the final tally.

Residents can stay updated and follow the progress of the count at https://elections.nsw.gov.au/

The official declaration of the Mayor and Councillors is anticipated during the first week of October.
