The Griffith Waratahs defeated West Wyalong 52 to 10 just before lockdown last Saturday, with the qualifying semi finals set for Sunday postponed until further notice.
All competitive activities, including games, training and official club events were put on hold until after lockdown. Teams are now waiting for further details from NSWRL and NSW Health.
President of the Senior Waratahs, Anthony Nascimben said the team was pulling together at the right time.
“It was a great win by our boys,” he said.
“It was a job well done by all.” He also gave a shout out to the small band of helpers behind the team. “If it was not for the guys behind the scenes getting our guys ready and strapped for their game, we’d be lost,” Nascimben said.
“They give up their valuable family time to help us out as volunteers during training and on game days here and on our away games.
“We really appreciate your assistance on and off the field.”
