Griffith’s Memorial Gardens will come alive on Saturday, October 28 with all the hustle and bustle of springtime, and live music, market stalls and loads of activities for the kids.

Organised by Griffith’s Youth Advisory Group (YAG), the free event will run from 5 pm to 9:30 pm.

Event coordinator, Lara Rossetto said Sounds of Spring was born from YAG’s desire to create a new family-friendly event celebrating young people in Griffith.

“We have so many talented young musicians in Griffith and we thought this would be a good way to showcase and support them,” Ms Rossetto said.

“It’s going to be a nice, chilled evening with a little bit for everyone.

“We’ve got a wide range of market stalls coming along and lots for kids of all ages to do.

“We’ll have free face painting and an arts and crafts station, plus Henna by YAG members, a barbecue will be provided and Mr Twister will also be coming along.”

Demi & Jessie, Charlie Jones, Alex Pietroboni, MIcheal Dilorenzo and the MCC Band are among the performers for the event.

Griffith Mayor, Doug Curran said it was good to see the passionate YAG members continue to work together to bring new ideas to life.

“I am really impressed with this group of young people,” Mayor Curran said.

“They have been doing some excellent work.

“The energy and commitment they bring to events such as the Glow Roller Discos, and now this, is inspiring.

“I urge locals to get behind Sounds of Spring and help make it a success.”

This event has been made possible thanks to funding from the NSW Government’s Reconnecting Regional NSW - Community Events Program.
