Star Business And Shopper Campaign Returns For 2022
Glow2680 returns to Griffith in the lead up to Christmas, with the Star Business and Shopper Campaign culminating in the sidewalk sale.
After a resounding success last year, the award-winning Glow2680 Christmas campaign will be back this year.
Griffith City Council’s Star Shopper Campaign received an outstanding 15,000 entries last year.
Businesses are once again invited to decorate and light-up their shop windows and register as Star Businesses as soon as possible to encourage those Star Shoppers to spend their hard earned cash locally in the lead up to the festive season.
Throughout November and the first week in December, shopping at a Star Business will earn you the opportunity to win a $500 first prize or one of five runners-up vouchers worth $100 each to spend at any one of the participating Star businesses.
Griffith City Mayor, Councillor Doug Curran said the aim was to increase participation and engagement between Council, business and the community and to help invigorate the economy.
“I urge all retail businesses to register,” Councillor Curran said.
“This campaign is part of our wider Glow2680 promotion.
“I think it’s a win for everyone.
“This allows Star Businesses to generate more sales and the Star Shoppers receive a nice little Christmas bonus to in turn spend more at their favourite Star Business.”
Council will promote the campaign through social media, including Instagram, and businesses are encouraged to showcase their displays using the hashtag #Glow2680.
Businesses can get involved by:
- Registering their business and receiving a Glow2680 Star Business promotional sticker so that shoppers can easily identify that they are participating;
- Decking their shop window with lights and other festive decorations;
Sending Council photos of their window display or simply use the #Glow2680 on social media platforms.
- Handing out entry forms to shoppers who spend over $15 to place int he box provided (one entry per spend);
- Having your window lights switched on in time for the Glow2680 Light Up on Friday, December 2;
- Registering their business to take part in the Christmas Sidewalk Sale on Saturday, December 3.
Shoppers just need to:
- Shop in-store throughout the promotional period (from Tuesday, November 1 until Thursday, December 8) at any of the Star Businesses, easily identified by the Glow2680 Star Business Sticker;
- Fill out the in-story entry form issued upon spending $15 (one entry per spend);
- Don’t forget to do your Christmas shopping during the Sidewalk Sale on Saturday, December 3.
More than 20 local businesses have already registered.
If your favourite store hasn’t yet registered, encourage them to do so.
